Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Fiat 500X- Video
Today on this 2016 Fiat 500X, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Helium Pro 3 hanging style bike rack. So I've already got it set up here, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like, and how it's going to hold your bikes.Now to hold your bikes by two straps on the top tube here, and then one for the seat post tube. That one for the seat post tube is going to help cut down on some of that sway when we're on the road. Also it will help on bike to bike contact, bike to bike rack contact, and bike to vehicle contact.I just want to point out one thing with it all set up. I'd just like to come over here and show you that on the Fiat, we can actually open up the rear hatch all the way, without having to make any adjustments to the rack at all. So that's with bikes loaded, and with the rack in it's place. more

Today on our 2016 Fiat 500X, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Helium Pro hanging style two bike rack. Then of course our two straps going over our top tube is going to keep our bike connected to the top so it doesn't come off.Now, real quick, with this bike rack set up and the bike installed, I'd like to point out that we don't need to remove our bike, we can open up our rear hatch all the way to remove any gear or groceries we might have in the back. more

Today on our 2016 Fiat 500X, we're gonna to be doing a test fit on the Thule Apex XT hanging style four bike rack.So you can see, I've already got it set up here, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it holds our bikes.We've actually got two straps for the top tube and one for that seat post tube. The one for that seat post tube is gonna help cut down on some of the sway in our bike. Bike to bike contact, bike to bike rack contact, and bike to vehicle contact. So with that strap installed, it's gonna help cut down on some of that.Now before I go any further, I just wanna mention that with this bike rack and the bike in place, we can actually open up our rear hatch without having to move anything. That way we can still grab any items that may be in our rear hatch, it's not going to be any issue.Now it also includes a cable lock. You can see that's stowed right here within the mast. more

As you can see we barely had enough room for it to swing open, but all you have to do is push on the bike rack slightly to get that extra bit of room and you're going to have more than enough room to open up that rear hatch to remove any cargo, gear, groceries, anything you have with you on your trip. So there's no need to remove the bike, tilt the bike rack away. more

Hollywood Racks RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2016 Fiat 500X- Video
Today on our 2016 Fiat 500X, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 platform-style bike rack for electric bikes.I've already got it loaded up here just to give you a good idea of what it looks like, and though it may look like a standard bike rack, it's actually a lot more heavy duty. It also has welded-on gussets underneath the cradles to support the extra weight of electric bikes. We can actually carry two electric bikes, with the weight capacity up to 80 pounds per bike. So again, very heavy duty.Now it's important to understand that when transporting electric bikes, you need to be sure that you have the battery removed during transport. Hollywood Racks recommends this.Now, other than that, it reacts or operates the same way as any other platform-style rack. We have the ability to tilt it away so we can access the rear hatch. more

Today on our 2016 Fiat 500x, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Bike Platform Rack. Part number HR1400Z.Now with the bikes installed, we'll take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, to start, this is a four bike platform rack we have right now. However, for those days when you might not have four bikes to haul, you can take off this two rack addition. All you have to do is loosen this handle and then remove this pin and clip, that'll shrink it to a two bike rack. This handle right here is what tightens it down and makes sure it doesn't move independently from the original two bike platform.Our bike has three different points where it's secured. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Fiat 500X HR1450Z-85- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Fiat 500X, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Two Bike Platform Bike Rack with a cargo carrier attached, part number HR1450Z-85.Now as you can see, the feature that stands out most is that we've added a cargo carrier to our normal Sport Rider SE2 Two Bike Platform Rack. Having the cargo carrier's gonna allow you to haul up to 100 pounds of extra gear on the back of your vehicle without it having to put it inside of your vehicle. This is handy for those cases where if you get back from a long day on the trail, and maybe you got a ton of muddy gear that you don't wanna put on the inside of your vehicle, you can use your cargo carrier to haul all of that home without having to risk dirtying up the inside of your vehicle.How it attaches is we come down in here. The shank slides into the end of our Sport Rider SE2, and we put the pin through, and then anti-rattle system works the same way as it does on the bike rack. If we come back here, once we tighten down this handle right here that pulls on that pin, it pulls it backwards to tighten it down and take away the shake and play from the cargo carrier so it doesn't move independently from the bike rack or the vehicle.Now as for the bike rack, it's gonna have three different points of contact on the bike. We have a hook and loop strap on the back, and the front, and we also have this padded frame hook right here putting downward force on top of the bike forcing it down into the trays. more

Now, with our bike installed, let's take a closer look to show off some of the features. To start, these trays are adjustable just by loosening and tightening this hand knob. You can adjust it along the bike rack, that's gonna help you accommodate bikes of different lengths. The bike itself has three different points where it's secured. We have a hook and loop strap securing the back wheel, and we have the same thing going on in the front right here with that hook and loop strap. more

Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Fiat 500X- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Fiat 500X, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Ridgeback 2-Bike Hanging Style Rack, part number Y0457.Now with the bike installed, let's take a closer look to show off some of the features. On the end our arms, we're going to have Yakima's signature bottle openers. The cradles are stationary. However, they do have this nice rubber TPE padding, meaning these little knobs that are sticking up from the padding are going to act like shock absorbers for your bike frame while you're traveling.The zip strips which hold your bike rack in place have a nice rubber padding right there. It's going to help protect your bike frame from any type of scratches or abrasions while it's being secured. The bike is secured at three different points of contact. more

Saris Thelma Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Fiat 500- Video
Today on our 2013 Fiat 500, we will be test fitting the Saris Thelma Platform Style 3 Bike Rack. That's part number SA4239B. This can be used for either 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. We've got an 1 1/4 here today, we can go ahead and begin by inserting our shank into our receiver. Line our pin holes up, that looks pretty good then we'll take our included anti rattle bolt, thread that through and then we'll take our socket wrench and finish that tightening out the rest of the way down. Nice thing about this anti rattle bolt is that it's going to help reduce the play and the wobble within our hitch and our bike rack as you can see there. more

Today on our 2013 Fiat 500, we will be test fitting the Saris Freedom Super Clamp Platform Style 2 Bike Rack, that's part number SA4025. This can be used for either 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. We've got an 1 1/4 hitch here today. We can go ahead and begin by inserting our shank into our receiver. Once we get that lined up, we'll go ahead and take our anti rattle bolt and lock. Go ahead and start threading that through. more

This is a Vertex 4 Bike Carrier.Okay, were going to start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch and then tightening down the anti-rattle bolt. All right, with the bike rack installed, well go ahead and give you some measurements that will give you an idea of clearance between bicycle rack and the car and ground clearance as well. It looks like closest point to the bumper is going to be 5 inches. It looks like ground clearance will be 7 inches.Alright, now well go ahead and test the access to the back of the car. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Fiat 500- Video
Today, on this 2012 Fiat 500, were going to do a test fit for part number TH990XT from Thule.This is a Thule Double Track Platform Bicycle Rack.One quick note: this bike rack can be used on 1 -inch receiver hitches both class 1 and class 2 and will also work with class 3 receiver hitches with the included spacer.Okay, were going to start off our install by installing the bike rack into the hitch and then installing anti-rattle bolt. Alright, next, well give you some measurements that will give you an idea of clearance between a bicycle rack and a car, and ground clearance. From the wheel well to the bumper on the car is going to be 5 inches. Ground clearance is going to be 7 inches.Next, well go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom, and well go ahead and lower the bike rack and then well go ahead and check for access to the back of the car. Okay, if that looks good, now go ahead and load up a bike. When we load up a bike, well make sure that the straps are out of the way in the rear wells and then well also make sure that the clamps in the center post are at the very top. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Fiat 500- Video
Alright, today on this 2012 Fiat 500, were going to do a test fit for part number TH9025 from Thule. This is their Apex 4 Bicycle Rack.Were going to start our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch. Well make sure with the integrated hitch pin snaps into place into the hitch pinhole and then well go ahead and tighten down the knob on the anti-rattle device.Alright, next, well go ahead and give you some measurements that will give you an idea of clearance between the bicycle rack and the car, and ground clearance. Alright, the closest point to the bike rack to the bumper is going to be 4 inches. Ground clearance is going to be 7 inches.Alright, now well go ahead and tilt the bike rack back and check for access to the back of the car. Okay, that looks good. more
